While India is a rapidly developing country, it still remains backwards in many aspects- widespread illiteracy, poor health facilities in rural areas, corruption in the political system and the perpetual dearth of chhutta.

If only I had a dollar for every time I heard a shopkeeper say “Madam ji khula de do, chhutta nahi hai”...I’d convert it into Indian Rupees and distribute it amongst all those shopkeepers who send me out with a ten Rupee note and an Orbit!
Aside from the uncontrollable vexation when you can see five new rolls of Rs2 coins lying there in the drawer but the seller is still blatantly lying to your face, there is a more pressing issue that arises when shopkeepers try to send off one of their products as change. Let us say the MRP of Product X is Rs5. But its true value, at which the shopkeepers procured it, is Rs3. When they hand it to you as change, they are actually earning a profit of 2 rupees out of the five rupees that were rightfully yours!
Ergo, hold yourself back from being blinded by the ‘New and Improved Lemon flavour’ of the candy they are thrusting in your hand, and fight against this nation-wide scam of the chutta blackhole. And as for the spare Center Fresh lying around our house, you know what to do next time you buy a packet of bread for Rs 32…
