Hijab harmony

We live in a world of boys, girls and more,

One such girl is Mahsa Amini.

We live in a world where women are suppressed galore

One such case where we finally have some affinity.

Being beaten to death so mercilessly,

Something no one should get.

Just for a slight masking cloth gone wrong

Leading to the unfortunate fate she met.

The people revolting tie up their hair,

Chop off the shackle.

We once again fight for what's fair,

With a new right to tackle.

The fact is,

Who decides what we wear and what we say?

Who decides how we live and how we pray?

Who decides that we should put up with these expectations?

Who decided we can’t indulge in argumentation?

Iranian women want no hijabs,

When Indian women want them.

What do you want? they ask,

It's simply the freedom to dress and be their own femme.

We all deserve the right to dress the way we want,

Look the way we look.

Without someone standing over our shoulders deciding what to flaunt,

We want to just live happily without someone looking in the nook.
